Thank you for being part of my art journey.
I’m very happy to share with you that my solo exhibition
The Art of OTOGI will be held this September in Wellington.
Each piece in this collection holds a world of its own - like small stories gently shaping the Earth. Through this exhibition, I hope to share quiet moments of harmony found in nature and the subtle connections between all living things.
22 – 28 September 2025
📍 Thistle Hall Community Venue, Cuba Street, Wellington
Opening night: Monday 22 Sep, from 6pm

Having lived in both Japan and New Zealand, my art draws inspiration from the colours, forms, and patterns found in the natural world of both places - from birds, turtles and trees, to the unseen stories flowing beneath the surface. My work often features recurring motifs and symbolic shapes that reflect the strength and delicacy of life, and the intricate designs of nature.
This exhibition is very close to my heart. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported my work by purchasing or commissioning my art, or by trusting me with design projects.
I’m preparing a little something to express my heartfelt appreciation, which I’ll be sharing with you soon.
With warm thanks,
Yae Takahashi
