A small update from my practice

Dear friends,
It has been some time since my last update, and the past months have been quite full, both in the studio and in everyday life.
I wanted to take a moment to share a few recent developments with you.
Recently, I was invited to participate in a special exhibition at TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Inogate Osaka in Japan, taking place next month.
Due to time constraints, I will be showing two framed art prints rather than original works, but I feel very grateful to be included in this international exhibition organised by Artvre Collective Japan.
Alongside my usual studio work, I have also been preparing for a new phase in my practice.
Earlier this month, I submitted an application to the Creative New Zealand Creative Fellowship Fund as part of developing a research project focusing on embodied perception, environment, and visual structure across Aotearoa New Zealand and Japan.
This project grows out of ideas that have been slowly forming in my work over many years, and I hope it will lead my practice into its next stage.
Looking ahead, my family and I are planning to spend more time in Japan from next year, and my work will gradually move toward a bi-locational rhythm between Aotearoa New Zealand and Japan.
This feels like a natural continuation of the themes I have been exploring for a long time - how we experience environment, how places connect, and how different layers of memory and perception shape what we see.
I am very thankful to be able to continue this journey with the support of so many people around me.
Your encouragement, conversations, and presence have always been part of what allows my work to grow.
I hope to share more with you again soon.
Warmly,
Yae Takahashi
